British Airways opens a flood of award seats to fly First to the U.S.

In the last 24 hrs, the English sites, which are talking about points, are in a frenzy and actually even those far away from the land of Albion, the reason is simple, in the last few hours British Airways has literally opened up the first class inventory by making even 4 seats available on the same flight, really unheard of stuff.

As known BA guarantees a Minimum number of award tickets per flight, But never before has anything like this been seen.

How to find dates without going crazy

I for BA and other programs use Seatspy, a product of I had talked a lot about in the past, But whom I have mentioned little lately.

These are some searches I just did 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11. There are seats in both directions, so with the possibility of a/r, of course you have to remember though that BA is really exorbitant when it comes to taxes and surcharges for a First ticket, about £1000.

However, if you have avios you could frame a ticket even during the spring bridges, which are not holidays in the UK and thus open to availability for us Italians.

What British Airways First looks like.

I have flown aboard BA's first class a couple of times., there are currently two very similar types of seats, with the big difference being that on the newer ones there is a door that totally isolates the passenger.

In late 2024 BA had unveiled the new cabins., but to date they have not yet been activated on any machine.

Passengers departing from LHR also have access to the Concorde Room, One of the best first-class lounges in the world.

In conclusion

Probably the drop in demand prompted BA to open all this availability to the U.S. in early 2026, in contrast finding F seats on the rest of the routes is (almost) a miracle.
