Emirates brings A350 to Fiumicino: after Milan and Bologna, Premium Economy also lands in Rome

There are three pieces of happy news for those planning to fly from Rome Fiumicino to Dubai in the Summer 2026 that will start next March 29. The first is that the Emirates carrier, starting that day, will introduce a third rotation on the route, adding, from Leonardo da Vinci, a mid-morning flight (EK 100) to the two it operates in the mid-afternoon (EK 098) and late evening (EK 096).
In this article:
The second piece of good news is that that third rotation will be operated on. not with a two-class Boeing 777-200LR (as Emirates had announced a couple of weeks ago), but with a brand new Airbus A350-900, with Rome thus becoming the second Italian city to receive Boeing's in-house bireactor in Emirates colors.
Finally, the third glad tidings, related to the second, is that Premium Economy to and from Dubai will also debut at Rome Fiumicino (as it did at Milan Malpensa and Bologna), as the A350 has three classes: business, premium economy and economy.

The A350-operated route will leave Fiumicino at 10:55 a.m. each day to arrive in Dubai at 6:40 p.m., while in the opposite direction flight EK 99 is scheduled to take off from Dubai at 3:50 a.m., arriving in Rome at 8:00 a.m.
On board, passengers will find 32 Business Class seats in 1-2-1 configuration, 28 Premium Economy seats 2-3-2 and 238 Economy seats 3-3-3.
The Emirates PE mounted on the A350s is, in terms of comfort, identical to that found on many of the A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs by now, who received it as a reterofit: it includes a row spacing of 40 inches (102cm), a seat width of 19.5 inches (50cm) and a screen of the 13.3-inch IFE.

The other two flights to and from Dubai operated by Emirates (with a Boeing 777-300ER and an Airbus A380) do not have Premium Economy on board, as they are configured in three classes, but that is First, Business and Economy.

In all, starting at the beginning of Summer 2026, there will be four flights operated by Emirates between Italy and Dubai with the carrier's new Premium Economy on board: two from Milan (aboard the two A380s), one from Rome and one from Bologna. Venice, however, will continue to be served by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER with First, Business and Economy on board.
