Qatar shuts off the spigot: from 2026, no more fast track to Platinum for Accor Diamonds

Bad news for those who had found one of the best shortcuts of recent years in the world of alliances: from 2026, Qatar Airways will no longer offer fast track to Privilege Club Platinum status for Accor ALL Diamond members.
In this article:
In other words: it ends one of the most powerful "tricks" to get oneworld Emerald (and thus First Class lounges included) with minimal effort.
The Qatar-Accor partnership: why it was so tempting
In 2022 Qatar Airways and Accor had launched a strategic partnership with: mutual point accumulation and status match and fast track crossed. Over these years the partnership has remained more or less unchanged, except for a slow decrease in platinum Privilege Club cards available in for users.

Basically every year users can take advantage of a cross status match based on the level of card held, especially was a real treat for those who owned a level with ALL, the French hotel chain's loyalty program:
What if your next trip was because of points?

| Accor ALL | Qatar Privilege Club | Oneworld level |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | Silver | Ruby |
| Platinum | Gold | Sapphire |
| Diamond | Platinum | Emerald |
It was enough:
- connect the two accounts
- do one Qatar Airways flight
Result: Qatar Privilege Club Platinum, that is:
- oneworld First Class lounge access
- top priorities
- extra baggage allowance
- real top tier treatment
- Including, which is no small thing, access to the Al Safwa First Lounge in Doha. even traveling in Business.
From 2026 stop to Platinum for Accor Diamond

Qatar has been quietly updating the terms and conditions, completely eliminating the fast track to Platinum. The new wording clearly states:
Connected ALL Diamond members will only benefit from a fast track to the Privilege Club Gold level.
Translated: from 2026 the maximum level obtainable will be Qatar Privilege Club Gold (oneworld Sapphire). No more Emerald, no more lounge at First.
Why this move weighs (and a lot)
At the time of the launch, Qatar had also published the annual ceilings Of fast track granted:
| Year | Qatar Platinum |
|---|---|
| 2022-2023 | 175 |
| 2024 | 250 |
| 2025 | 300 |
| 2026 | 350 (expected) |
So the number should have increased, not disappear. Instead: the Platinum is just cancelled from the fast track program. And I have to say that this cold shower, which came in late 2025, hit me hard since it was one of my 2026 strategies to get back in possession of an Emerald oneworld card.
From 2026, for an Accor Diamond:
- maximum achievable level: Qatar Privilege Club Gold
- Key benefits:
- oneworld business class lounge
- priority check-in and boarding
- extra luggage
All useful, for goodness sake. But is not remotely comparable to the value of Platinum/Emerald.
Reciprocal points accumulation continues

No changes, however, on the earning front:
Flying Qatar and sleeping Accor
- 10 Avios for every €10 spent (major brands)
- exceptions:
- ibis, ibis Styles, Mama Shelter → 5 Avios / €10
- Adagio → 4 Avios / €10
- Adagio Access → 2 Avios / €10
Flying Qatar as an Accor member
- 1 ALL point for every 2 USD spent
- in addition to regular Avios Qatar
Points arrive within six weeks.
In conclusion
If you had managed to bring Platinum home in time: congratulations, you won. If, on the other hand, like me you were procrastinating: this is a classic frequent flyer lesson - When a loophole is too good, sooner or later they plug it.
Honestly: no wonder Qatar decided to turn off the tap. It was too good to last; however, I would have liked advance notice and not to realize it after the fact.
