About a month after the incident, which almost ruined our vacation in Polynesia, here is an update on the Frenchbee issue.
The facts
In this article:
On the night of December 8, the low-cost airline. FrenchBee had canceled our flight re-routing us to the next day, a 24h delay that would have caused us to miss our other scheduled flights back to Italy. Although a European carrier, and Polynesia for all intents and purposes a territory of the European Union, EU261 did not cover this route since our flight was not to Paris, but only to San Francisco.
I worked independently to find an alternative solution and return home as planned, and I also activated the reimbursement request to the company.
Repayment received
The price of the three tickets had been 877.89 euros, being a low-cost airline we had had to add the cost for the choice of seat (20€/cad) and a 60€ checked baggage, for a total expense of 977.89€ and fortunately we had not paid to book food on board, since on board the A350s of this airline, everything is paid for unless you Premium Economy flights.

Initially it seemed that the company would only refund us 303.63 euros, but in recent days several credits arrived on the credit card used to pay.
On balance, to date we have only been reimbursed for tickets, totaling 887.89, But not the extras spent on place selection and beam. Of course 120€ shortfall is not a small amount, but compared to the first screen is already much better. We will see if I can get the last part reimbursed as well so that I can close the file quickly.
