First time in Boston for me and first review of a Celtics city hotel on our site.
In this article:
A serious deficiency that, along with Miami, needed to be filled given the large number of Italians passing through the Massachusetts every year. The choice to sleep at this hotel stems from the price and the fact that, if I can, I always try to sleep in the area Chinatown. I did it at Washington DC and in Chicago, and it will certainly not be the last time.
Reservation

If you want to accumulate points with stays you have two options: the first is, if you are interested in status and points from a chain, book through apps and other direct channels of the facility; if you want to maximize points and benefits on an airline card, however, I remind you to book through the airline's website, looking for the right bonus.
What if your next trip was because of points?

I obviously aim for the first case scenario, so I booked directly on the app of Hilton also because, with the current promo, each stay also brings bonus points into my pocket.

One night, including all taxes and other fees, cost me 169$ and I remind you that in Hilton hotels even if you have status you don't get free breakfast, you get a credit to spend which in this case is 18$.
Be careful, though, NOT Can be used in the small pantry.
Location

The DoubleTree Boston Downtown is located in 821 Washington Street, in a super central location between the Theater District and the Chinatown area, practically opposite the complex of Tufts Medical Center: you are only a few minutes' walk from Boston Common and from the Boston Public Garden, and you can generally get around well on foot to downtown (restaurants, shopping, and attractions).

In addition, the metro stop Tufts Medical Center Station is literally "doorstep," so it is convenient even if you don't want to walk or if you have to go across town (and to get to/from Logan International Airport).
Check-in

Arriving late in the evening, during an intense snowfall, was not a bad way for my first time in Boston.

The nice thing about this hotel is definitely the bar in the lobby, in fact it is what should make you choose it to live like a local. Like in the movies: bar, beer and screens showing the Olympics.

Checked in in seconds and I was in my room, complete with free upgrade in a junior suite, really something that has never happened in the U.S. because, I remind you, virtually everyone here has the status.
Suite
What can I say, used to so many dusty old Hiltons, I was surprised. Of course, nothing comparable to Dubai or Bangkok, but a completely different game is played here.

Two rooms, one kitchenettes equipped with everything.
Perfect for those who want to make long stays, connecting bathroom and bedroom with bed king.
Two big smart TVs, sofa and lots of windows: too bad with practically zero view.
I must say that the quality of sleep was good. Quiet climate, no noise from neighbors; the same could not be said of the outside. Occasional sirens directed at nearby Tufts Hospital could be heard.
Bathroom in the norm for the type of hotel.
Breakfast?

Breakfast in U.S. hotels is a fail 9 times out of 10, let's say every time you stay in a mid-range establishment, and given that the credit of the 18$ enough, more or less, for a cappuccino and a little more, my advice is to use it in the bar and have breakfast outside the hotel.

I ended up in a beautiful diner, full of locals: highly recommended.
In conclusion

Interesting location, nice structure with the plus Of the very lively bar and the Starbucks practically internal.

- Location
Against
- You can't use credit in the pantry
