As a Ligurian, I can say that I waited even too long to review the first Hilton in my region; sure, there would be SLHs, but since they are not real Hiltons and, to be picky, not even the hotels in the Curio Collection born to be Hiltons ... however, rather than nothing, it is better rather.
In this article:

The Grand Hotel Savoia is not a new facility And in fact it is part of the sign Curio, which encompasses independent facilities that affiliate with the Hilton family to leverage marketing and loyal clientele. It has done no modernization work: From one day to the next he joined the large family of the American chain And here I decided to review it.
Location

We find ourselves In front of the Principe Square train station, 500 meters from Ponte dei Mille, viz. from the Cruise Terminal of Genoa and from where MSC and Costa flagships depart, less than 1 km from the ferry terminal and the Genoa Aquarium.
Translated: this facility is perfect for every type of tourist visiting Genoa for the first time and beyond. From here you can get around on foot, by subway (yes, there is a subway in Genoa) or by any other means to visit the city and the rivieras.
The hotel offers parking for 28€/day with valet to pick up/drop off guests' cars.
Reservation

I will never tire of repeating it: always and only via app, because only then do you have all the benefits provided by the status e only then do you get qualifying points and nights for status.

The cost of the room was not cheap, but Zena is anything but cheap, and this is still a historic, 4-star facility, among the best in town. One night at 155€, including tourist tax.
Check-in

As soon as you step inside the hotel, you can tell. is not a new structure: it has a soul, and if the walls could talk, they would have many stories to tell.

Normal check-in, very little interaction with the attendant who "noted" my status and pointed out that there were the two bottles of water waiting for me in the room. He explained nothing about the hotel except how to find the elevator to get to the room.
The room

The first problem I got it by opening the door: of course, the picture doesn't render the true darkness, but the point is. there was no light on, and in order to activate it, I had to find where to insert the card and then find the switch. Normally, however, a light should turn on and then off if you don't insert the card, or at least turn on automatically as soon as you insert the key. Nothing.

I finally managed to turn on the lights. The room, like the whole hotel, is vintage: from the classic Genoese floors to all the furnishings, you can tell that we are not in a newly renovated hotel.
Warning: it doesn't mean it's old, just that you're in a structure that has a soul, not a Moxy-style Ikea prefab.
The room is large, the bathroom as well, and I also had a small terrace with a view of Genoa that I had never had before.
In the room everything you expect and also something that, when it is there, surprises you: the full minibar and snacks, as well as the coffee machine.

King bed, without topper and unfortunately with a very serious flaw: it was not a king mattress but two singles approached and the absence of the extra mattress, in my opinion, is a serious lack in a 4-star facility.
In the bathroom Culti products and a environment that makes it clear that the hotel was not built on the cheap or even in the 1980s of the last century and that perhaps could use a refresh.

I really appreciated the small gift I found in the room, here you can see that Hilton gave the right directions to the property.
The hotel

On the ground floor there is a buvette with mirrors and soaring ceilings, perfect for enjoying a pianist who gladdens the evenings and probably was so in the golden years of this facility.
The furnishings, elements, and details tell the story of this hotel, Like samurai armor on the mezzanine floor.
There is a small all-Technogym gymnasium.

There is also a spa that I did not get to visit and a rooftop terrace on the top floor of the facility.
Breakfast
Also on the ground floor is the hotel restaurant, again the ambience is elegant: Genovese floors are a constant in all environments.
The hall faces the street, and that is not a bad thing. The proposal is average, a tad too standard for a 4-star.

Of course, this is probably the only Hilton in the world where you can get focaccia genovese to dip in cappuccino, but I must say that I would have expected something better.

I had an omelet, but to quote Chef Barbieri it was more An omelet than an omelet.
In conclusion
Finally, a Hilton in Genoa, but perhaps a new structure would have been better.

Of course, the Curio are hotels with a soul, and this Grand Hotel Savoia has it, but it would also take an extra step to accommodate the many tourists who finally search on Hilton app will discover Genoa thanks to this hotel.
