After 55 months of work, from July 28, 2021 to February 24, 2026, the Romeo Project has officially changed the face of Verona Airport. A huge intervention, designed to accompany the airport's growth and arrive ready for the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, which expanded and reorganized the departure area without stopping Catullo's operations.

It is one of those spaces that tells well the direction an airport wants to take. Not just more square meters, more gates or more stores, but also a different idea of waiting at the airport: less "dead time," more comfort, more services, more perceived quality.

The new lounge is located On the ground floor of the terminal, in the airside area, then after the controls, in a position designed to be really convenient with respect to terminal flows: it is in fact placed so barycentric than both the ground floor and second floor boarding areas. This is a non-trivial choice, because it means making it conveniently accessible to a wider audience of passengers, without having to cross half an airport.

The space is spread over approx. 600 square meters and was conceived as an environment dedicated to those who, before their flight, simply want to feel better: to relax, to work, to take a break in a quieter setting than the common areas of the terminal. It is exactly the kind of intervention that, when done well, changes the perception of the airport even without the need for special effects.
From a design perspective, the lounge is presented as a space with a cut contemporary and cozy, with a strong focus on materials, finishes and furnishings with a footprint Made in Italy. The message is clear: not a "premium" waiting room in name only, but an environment that tries to combine functionality, comfort and elegance, and thus catering to both the frequent flyer and the leisure passenger who decides to purchase access to treat themselves to a more comfortable experience before boarding.

The lounge is not exclusively reserved to those who fly certain businesses or have status. In addition to passengers with included access and frequent flyers, it can also be used by those who want to enter by purchasing a ticket or simply with Priority Pass or other "all you can visit" cards.
