Aerolinee Siciliane is an airline established at the behest of entrepreneur Luigi Crispino, originally from Caltagirone and long active in the air transport sector (in fact, in the past, he was also a shareholder in Wind Jet). The project is based on a model of shareholding widespread and aims to offer a high-quality and, above all, sustainable and locally oriented service. The stated goal is to combat the phenomenon of expensive flights and ensure more accessible connections between Sicily and the rest of Italy.
The first routes: Palermo-Bergamo and Catania-Bergamo
The operational debut includes two links Key between Sicily and northern Italy: flights from Palermo e Catania to Bergamo. The company's website is already active and it is possible to make a booking simulation; in the coming days, however, the actual purchase of tickets may become feasible.

Some, legitimately, might wonder: why Bergamo? The Lombardy airport represents a joint strategic, a reference point for those traveling between northern and southern Italy. At a later stage, however, the expansion plan includes connections to Germany and destinations in the Mediterranean, among other destinations.
What aircraft will Aerolinee Siciliane fly with? The company has reached an agreement with 4 Airways, a Maltese company holding an air operator's certificate, which will provide the aircraft on a leasing basis.

Target: goodbye expensive flights. Prices between 64 and 69 euros
As mentioned, Aerolinee Siciliane's stated goal is to combat the phenomenon of expensive flights through a Price Cap system, i.e., a ceiling on fares.According to the company's estimates, prices for domestic flights are expected to range between 64 and 69 euros, with the promise of tariff stability even during periods of higher demand.

Watchword: strong focus on the territory
In addition to the policy of capped prices, the company relies on a strong size social. The project includes the allocation of free seats dedicated to students from families in need to enable them to participate in educational trips. There is also provision for a quota of approx. 7% of the total places with subsidized conditions for those who must travel for health reasons or serious family needs. Added to this is a contribution of 0.50 euro per passenger carried, earmarked to fund scholarships and vocational training paths in the aviation industry.
The expected impact, however, is not only on passengers. Aerolinee Siciliane declares the goal of creating within the first three years 400 direct jobs and about 600 in the supply chain. In total, up to 1,000 new job opportunities, with the aim of enhancing Sicilian skills in the tourism and logistics sectors.
