Are you an Amex Platinum holder? now you can access LH lounges even when you fly Air Dolomiti (and beyond)

There are few things that have survived the pandemic and the innovative solutions that companies had put in place to try to collect a few extra dollars, and one of these solutions of creative finance had been the agreement between Lufthansa e American Express To allow holders Platinum to access the German group's lounges.

The novelty

Poking around on the website of American Express Loyalty Lobby, has unearthed the novelty, namely theenlargement of access rules.

Until yesterday, it was possible to enter Lufthansa lounges by showing the Amex Platinum card (physical, not digital) only if you were flying with Lufthansa, then not When flying with one of the group carriers.

What's new is just that: you can now enter when flying with one of the German group's airlines: Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Air Dolomiti, Edelweiss Air, Eurowings, Discover Airlines, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines, SWISS.

The basic rules do not change: if you travel in economy you will have access to the lounges Business, if instead you travel in business you will have access to the halls Senator.

ITA Airways is currently out of the deal

The list of companies is missing ITA Airways and so it will remain until Lufthansa takes control of the majority of shares of the Italian carrier.

So if you depart from Munich with ITA, you will not have access to LH lounges.

The other rules don't change either: that means they will continue to be open only the doors of Lufthansa's halls, not those of Swiss, Austrian, Brussels or ITA itself.
