In 24 months things have changed, but not very much. It has been two years since our, personal, top5 worst business class cabins in European skies and so the time has come for the new edition, now on the eve of the summer vacations and bookings.
In this article:
Delays in the delivery of the new planes and the persistent difficulties of the supply chain continue to slow down the plans of the airlines. However, there are those who have dropped out of the rankings and those who are well on their way to doing so.
Complicating (the passenger's) life, however, are the advertising campaigns: companies always use only the latest and newest cabins in all communications, but, as passengers of Qatar Airways, Getting "qatarized" is a snap and the passenger has no possibility of reimbursement, since you book the class, not the booth/armchair With which you fly.
We come to the top 5 worst companies: compared to February 2023, Air France came out of this ranking, Emirates e Virgin Atlantic are on the right track, while the new entry is only Turkish Airlines.

La Air France's Caribbean business class is now an old memory-all the machines that had this configuration have been retrofitted with the beautiful new cabs. Of course, AF still has several planes outfitted with the old seats, but we are talking about a proposal that is not Top 5 in any case.
We come, then, to the ranking of the 5 worst business classes in European skies.
In fifth place: Virgin Atlantic's sardine cans.

Also Virgin Atlantic, slowly, he is breaking away from his "cans of sardines", but ending up on a 787 or a A330 With this configuration it is still very likely. If you want to read my review you can do so, if you want to try them while spending little you can do it in Thailand. Thai took retired cars from VS and sells the Former business class as a regional premium economy, at this price it is a real bargain.
In fourth place: the Emirates Boeing 777s.
Different discussion for Emirates, which continues to upgrade its fleet of Boeing 777/300 With the new cabins, but the conclusion of this revamp is still a long way off.
Of course, to date in Italy only flies from Venice, but taking it from Dubai to reach the final destination is still very likely.
In third place: all of Lufthansa's non-Allegris fleet.
The operation Allegris for Lufthansa did not go according to initial plans. Let's say today, almost 10 years after it was introduced, should have been completed by now. Between saying and doing there is everything in between: procurement problems, construction problems, certification problems, errors in calculating weights and heights. In short, a kind of horror movie.
The result is that today only 20 planes, compared with a fleet of more than 100 on the long haul, are Allegris. The first 747 renewed was supposed to be ready for Summer 25, but a year later it has yet to arrive.
The A380 Will never see it and, indeed, Will be redeveloped, but in the middle, with a kind of harlequin effect. For this Lufthansa deserves the bronze medal In our personal ranking.
In second place: business class at Turkish Airlines.
This year's new entry is Turkish Airlines. Today the fleet TK consists of many different configurations. Of course, the A350 have the new booths, but then there are also those with booths designed for Aeroflot, even more beautiful. And sooner or later the first 777s should arrive. Set up with home-developed armchairs.
Reality, however, is mostly made up of planes that have nothing so fancy: configuration : configuration 2-3-2, i.e., the same as Emirates on the 777s, but also a more comfortable, if outdated, one, 2-2-2. The problem with TK is just that: the risk of ending up in a seat that is not worth the money it costs is very high, and, therefore, you have to be very careful when booking, mainly by taking advantage of services such as Aerolopa.
The worst European business class is that of British Airways
Leading the way, however, remains British Airways: his unwatchable Club World is still with us and does not look like it is going to disappear anytime soon.
Of course, BA renewed part of the fleet, but 787 e A380 Are still in bad shape. A short we should see the first giant fly with the new cabins, but in these cases you absolutely cannot rely on what is written on the website: a machine change can immediately bring you back down to earth.
The other "noteworthy" ones
Fortunately, companies are renovating their cabins, and especially in Europe, we are seeing many refreshed machines.

In LH group it must be said that Swiss, Austrian e Brussels do not offer a much better product than Lufthansa and, in fact, there are changes planned here as well. Air Europa has its own 787/8, which offer an âgée and less comfortable configuration than the larger 787/9. Also LOT continues to fly with the Dreamliner, but sooner or later it should receive the new machines.
Looking at companies that fly a lot to Italy from outside the EU, there is a lot of difference if you fly on a 777 or a A350 by Air China.
In conclusion

Probably the top 5 24 months from now will be very different from today: Emirates Will have finished renovating his fleet, BA e TK should have started installing the new chairs. Definitely Lufthansa Will be more "Allegris", but not enough to no longer be part of the list of 5 worst business classes in European skies.
