Trading cards will not be distributed automatically, but will go requests directly at pilots on flights operated by the company. Availability will be limited and based on the principle of "first come, first served", so there is no guarantee that every passenger will be able to get one.
This detail makes the initiative even more attractive to aviation enthusiasts and frequent flyers, turning a simple cabin request into a small "hunting at treasure" among the heavens.

Each paper is designed to be more than just a souvenir. In addition to the image of the aircraft, it includes. specifications techniques, diagrams and trivia about the model depicted, in this way it is possible to learn more about the history and operational context of aircraft, both current and past.

The aircraft featured in the collection
The first set of cards will highlight four aircraft currently in service in American Airlines' fleet: theAirbus A321neo, and the Boeing 737-800, 777-300ER e 787-9.
Alongside these modern models, the company also chose to include three special cards dedicated to aircraft historians that have marked their own evolution: the Douglas DC-3, the Boeing 707-123 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-80. A choice that combines past and present, strengthening the link between innovation and tradition.

A trend already widespread among airlines
With this initiative, American Airlines fits into a trend already consolidated in the industry. Several companies, including Delta, have long offered similar trading cards, which are often popular with frequent flyers and enthusiasts.

In American's case, however, the project takes on special significance because it was created on a symbolic anniversary and combines contemporary and historic aircraft, offering a broader view of the company's identity.
In conclusion
According to American Airlines Vice President of Flight Operations, Commander Alan Johnson, these cards represent "the culmination of 100 years of special moments shared between pilots, aircraft and passengers." The goal is to create a direct point of contact between those who fly and those in the cockpit, making each trip more personal.
In an age when the flying experience is often in danger of becoming standardized, initiatives like this one aim to restore an emotional and narrative element to air travel. And for many travelers, it could be the beginning of a new collection to take with you, flight after flight.
