Small, crowded, and with a shared buffet: review Lufthansa Senator & Business Lounge in Berlin

L'Berlin airport, contrary to what you might think, not a big hub.
In this article:
From Germany's capital Lufthansa, Condor and other German airlines. do not offer intercontinental routes and it's not even like Malpensa, where the airport, even without a flagship airline, manages to do incredible numbers attracting carriers from halfway around the world.

This is why the lounge scenario is quite sad: translated, this is the only official lounge in the entire airport. Then there is Tempelhof and Tegel, two halls named after the old Berlin airports.
Location
We find ourselves near gate B20, at the end of the terminal. If you don't feel like walking, I suggest using the treadmills on the opposite side from the gates.

When you reach the bottom, you have to go up to the upper floor.
Access

Like all official lounges, it is open to all business class passengers, to holders of the Gold Star Alliance status and, since it is a Lufthansa lounge, it is also possible to enter with American Express Platinum, take advantage of the voucher for holders of the Advanzia's Miles&More Gold and also enter with the card FTL Miles&More.
The Business Lounge

The reception is the watershed Of the hall. To the left is access to the Business Lounge, right to the Senator Lounge, which is the room reserved for those who hold a Gold Star Alliance card from one of the companies in this alliance.
The paradox, which I find more and more often, is that Business was much less crowded And, by logic, it should be the other way around.
The room overlooks the square and, having one side completely windowed, is very bright, a constant of many lounges on German soil.

In the center, as you enter, there is a counter that houses the hot drink dispenser.
The special feature, perhaps designed to optimize space, is that the buffet is located in the Senator area, so in fact one can move between the halls without any particular problems.
The Senator Lounge

The comparison between the amount of passengers in this part of the lounge, compared to Business, was really huge.

I struggled to find a place to place myself 10 a.m..
Also here the natural light is starring, but you can see that the spaces are not huge.
Every inch is exploited to the fullest, as opposed to other Lufthansa Group lounges, where rooms are usually more airy.
Food & Beverage

In the Business area there is a vending machine and nothing more.
In the Senator zone we have the classic Lufthansa buffet, where the menu, although German cuisine is not the most renowned, definitely changes more often Than in the lounges of ITA.

There are then two islands for drinks, soda tappers, and the inevitable of beer, as well as plenty of alcohol at any time of day.
In conclusion

It is not one of the best, but is not even one of the worst. Personally, I would have opted for a unique solution and not because of a pretended division between Business and Senator, especially if in fact it is all free flow.

Pro

Against
- Buffet only in the Senator
