The Morocco, located in the northwestern part of Africa, is a country rich in history, culture and breathtaking scenery. It is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean Sea, to the east and southeast by Algeria, and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. To the south, the country is bordered by Western Sahara, a disputed region.
The capital of Morocco is Rabat, an elegant and quiet city located along the Atlantic coast. Rabat is known for its historical monuments, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Kasbah of the Oudaïa.
However, the largest and most vibrant city in Morocco is Casablanca. Casablanca is the economic and commercial heart of the country, famous for its modern architecture and busy port. It also features the majestic Mosque by Hassan II, one of the largest mosques in the world.
Another important city is Marrakech, known for its medina fascinating, the bustling square Jemaa el-Fnaa and the luxurious gardens Majorelle. Fez, with its ancient medina and the prestigious Al Quaraouiyine University. Finally there is Tangier, a port city on the Strait of Gibraltar, which has inspired artists and writers for centuries.
Morocco offers a variety of spectacular landscapes, from the Atlas Mountains to the dunes of the Sahara Desert to the beaches along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts. Among the main natural attractions are the Todra Gorge and the dunes of Erg Chebbi close to Merzouga, where visitors can experience a camel ride in the desert.
