Comac company news and trivia

La Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) is one of China's leading aerospace companies, headquartered in Shanghai. Founded in 2008, COMAC was established with the goal of developing and producing commercial aircraft to reduce China's dependence on foreign manufacturers and to become a significant competitor in the global aviation market.

COMAC's flagship project is the C919, a single-aisle airliner designed to compete with models such as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. The C919 made its first flight on the May 5, 2017. This aircraft can carry between 158 e 168 passengers and has a maximum radius of about 5,555 kilometers.

Another important project of COMAC is theARJ21, a regional jet that can carry between 70 e 90 passengers. ARJ21 made its first commercial flight in the June 2016. This aircraft is designed to operate in harsh environments and airports with limited infrastructure, making it ideal for China's vast and diverse domestic market.

COMAC has established strategic partnerships with various international companies to develop and produce its aircraft. For example, it has initiated the design of another aircraft, a competitor to the A350 and B787, the CR929, which partners with the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Russian.

So far, COMAC has received orders mainly from Chinese airlines, but aims to expand its international presence. The company has produced more than 50 specimens of ARJ21 and accumulated over 800 orders And options for the C919.

COMAC represents an important step for China's aviation industry, demonstrating the country's ability to develop advanced aerospace technologies and compete in the global market. With continued support from the Chinese government and the expansion of its technological and manufacturing capabilities, COMAC aims to become a key player in global commercial aviation.
