In this comparison we chose to fly with "the others," viz. the three competing low-cost carriers by Ryanair: The goal is to find out how they behave on a route such as Milan-Barcelona.

We chose this route because it is not one of the "monopoly" routes; rather, it is served by virtually all premium carriers such as ITA, Iberia, Air Europa, and also by Singapore Airlines with its only fifth-freedom route active between two European destinations. We got the cheapest ticket to fly to Barcelona aboard 3 of the most popular low-cost airlines in Italy: Wizz Air, easyJet e Vueling.
