It is with a post on Facebook that Emirates announces the arrival of his 177th Airbus A380, the second in December, with the prospect of being in the air by thewinter 2022.
The special feature of today's announcement is that for the first time in the history of this company the plane will be equipped with premium economy.
To date, Emirates had 3 different types of outfitting for the A380, two provide for 3 classes (first, business in the upper deck and economy in the lower deck), while another series was configured with only two classes: business and economy.
When will it come into service Will be the first one equipped with 4 classes, something now common in many companies, but a rarity for the Dubai-based carrier.
A380, the giant of the skies
Produced and launched in 2005 by the Airbus, the competitor of Boeing, is one of the bigger airliners in the world, with the capacity to carry as many as 853 people.
The company that led the way was the Singapore Airlines, but it is Emirates that has made the aircraft its own, adopting a hundred of them around the world. The 650-ton behemoth is supported by a wingspan of 80 meters and four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 turbofan engines, which proved quieter than its rival Boeing 747-200.
The Green choice
Even in the world of aviation, choices can be made. environmentally sustainable and this is the case with Emirates, which, starting with the latest orders, has started a trend Eco for its A380s thanks to a new type of fuel.
The Biofuel, which will be partially used for aircraft, comes from Finnish fry shops. No, this is not a joke, it is really about thewaste oil used in kitchens in Finland... why Finland of all places? Well it is the home of the Green!
"The sustainability remains one of our priority in Emirates. We are watching developments in sustainable aviation fuel very closely and look forward to the time when it can be produced on large scale and in a cost-competitive manner. Our last A380 delivery flight was partially powered by aviation fuel sustainable and this is a positive step toward reducing our emissions overall."
These are the words of the president of Emirates Airlines, Tim Clark. The company uses an intelligent system of monitoring of fuel and also places great emphasis on green initiatives in aviation, as just demonstrated.
The A380 Premium Economy
Thus was born a new class, the Premium Economy, which combines premium service and convenience at a cost that is relatively Economy.
"Premium Economy Class Starts with a seat. And ends with a smile." This is the motto to introduce the new seats. Leaked images of the new seat disappointed fans who expected a revolutionary product, instead it will be a classic Premium Economy seat as seen on Singapore, Lufthansa or British Airways.
More legroom, but nothing more. There is no shortage of technology, on the sides are 2 USB ports, one lamp for reading and international power outlets to recharge any device, as well as a convenient storage compartment housed in the seat in front.
Cuisine service is bookable up to 24 hours before departure or you can choose from the offerings provided in-flight, paired with wine glasses or champagne. For in-flight entertainment, however, soundproof headphones and a screen were considered touch screen to choose from the 1,800 offerings of movies, TV series, music and games.
