Le new luggage rules aboard flights EasyJet came into effect on February 10, 2021. What had already been announced for some time by the carrier has now become official, making more than a few noses twitch. A change that the airline's regular passengers just cannot accept, especially since it all comes in a year like this one, seen by many as one of slow return to normalcy.
The new rules
In this article:
The year 2021 will be the year of return to normalcy and, consequently, the year in which people will be able to book a flight without the anxiety of having to request a refund because of a sudden cancellation due to the Covid-19. Free and serene travel, not only during the summer bubble.
This is what was thought during the last months of 2020. New Year's Day, however, did not "suddenly" erase all the issues the world is facing. The vaccination process is not proceeding at all in a speedy manner, and as a result, what we are experiencing is a 2020 part II.
It is also time to come to terms with some of the consequences of the events of the past 12 months. The world of tourism has been turned upside down and, as seen, the business and leisure travel reduced to the bone. Here are companies such as EasyJet have accelerated processes that otherwise would probably have taken a few more years.
All passengers are entitled to one baggage included in the price of the ticket purchased. This may not be placed inside the hat box. The dedicated space will be below the seat placed in front of one's own. This means that the size of the suitcase in question will be smaller than usual: 45x36x20 centimeters (including wheels and handles), with no weight limit.
The hat box, on the other hand, is intended for passengers equipped with a Up front ticket o Extra legroom. In this case the small luggage to be placed under the seat will be flanked by a suitcase of 56x45x24 centimeters (including wheels and handles). This benefit is guaranteed free of charge to holders of EasyJetPlus card or at a discounted price to customers with Flexi tariff, who will, however, have to choose one of two types of tickets.
New travel documents
From one low-cost airline to another, from EasyJet to Ryanair, there is no shortage of news in this early 2021. The famous company has informed its passengers of the possibility of an additional request regarding the flight documentation standard.
Customers are incited to check this page one to proceed to check-in. Arriving at the airport without the new complete documentation could, in fact, result in the inability to take the flight.
As of today, it is possible to find on Ryanair's website a long list of documentation to download, choosing carefully the file related to your type of travel. The proposed scheme is divided by country of reference and type of traveler. These are, for the moment, self-certifications presenting specific differentiations according to the cases: arrivals from abroad, domestic flights, flights directed to specific regions.
