Fortunately, in recent times there has been increasing talk of the Health Passport, a tool that allows you to plot travelers vaccinated or who have undergone swab in the hours immediately before the flight with negative results.
This allows you to travel in security and peace of mind and, to those who are already immunized or negative, to avoid the quarantine.
IATA's proposal
One of the first proposals came directly from IATA (International Air Transport Association), which represents 290 airlines.
The association has recently been experimenting with the App that allows people to streamline controls check-in. The first airline to test the new service was. Singapore Airlines who tried the IATA Travel Pass on his flights from Singapore to London with success.
"Having the confidence of an aviation leader like Singapore accepting IATA Travel Pass is extremely significant. Ongoing testing has put us on the right track for IATA Travel Pass to become a key tool for rebooting the industry by providing verified travel health credentials to governments.
And travelers can have complete confidence that their personal information is safe and under their control. The success of our joint efforts will make IATA's partnership with the Singapore government a model for others to follow."
Willie Walsh, IATA Director General.
Which airlines have adopted IATA Travel Pass
In addition to Singapore Airlines also Iberia recently decided to adopt IATA's Travel Pass. The test will begin for Uruguay-bound flights at Montevideo airport; as well as Qatar Airways which tested the operation of the new App on the Doha - Istanbul route.
Returning to the East also ANA - All Nippon Airways is using the Travel Pass on some domestic routes but also Korean Air began experimentation on the Seoul Incheon - Los Angeles flight.
Malaysia Airlines, Air New Zealand and Ethiopian Airlines are the latest to join the list of airlines that have decided to test IATA's service for their routes.
IATA travel pass: how it works
The operation of the App is very simple and intuitive, as we mentioned, the service allows tracking of all people who have undergone a swab and had a negative result or people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
This process will streamline the operations of check-in and will ensure that passengers and insiders can travel safely. The simple steps to use the App are:
- Download the App for smartphones and register
- Connect the data Of the passport to the App and possibly the flight details
- If we have undergone vaccination, upload the certificate on the app
- If we have not undergone vaccination, simply choose one of the affiliated centers within the App and undergo swab
- The result of the swab is communicated directly in the App, and the App will return an "OK to Travel" message allowing us to demonstrate the negativity To the buffer officially and travel safely
Other companies have chosen other types of Health Passports, such as. British Airways e America Airways who are using the App VeriFly, which, however, has the same principle as IATA.
In Europe, efforts are being made to uniform the line and have a service equal for everyone. We hope soon to get back to traveling the way we like, and if these initiatives help us to be able to fly safely, welcome them!
