Even in this 2021, which will hopefully mark the rebirth of the tourism industry, the growth of Neos Air. In fact, they landed in Milan Malpensa the two new Boeing 737 Max 8 Of the company second in Italy. To welcome them a warm welcome with the traditional water cannon health firefighters. The arrival from Seattle of the two aircraft was a truly special event, signaling a new step in the evolution process of the carrier born in 2002.
In this article:
Since then, growth has been unstoppable, and in 2019, just under 20 years after its formation, Neos Air has reached its goal flying to more than 50 destinations. Exciting results for the Italian sector, with 12 aircraft in the fleet and a 466 million euro turnover. Huge development from 2018 to 2019, only to run into a hard stop, like all companies, in 2020. The idea, however, is not to stop, to aim even higher, relying on the great desire to travel of Italians and others, who have been housebound for more than a year.
The renewal of Neos
The addition of the two Boeing 737 Max 8s brings the Neos Air's fleet to a total of 14 aircraft. The third aircraft in the triptych ordered from the U.S. company is also expected shortly. This is all part of an extensive expansion and renewal project for the Alpitour Group-branded company. Just think of the last five months of work, which have seen four aircraft added to the large family Neos Air.
There has been a lot of talk about the company recently, considering its role in this delicate phase of the tourism industry, struggling with the effects of Covid-19. The Italian company has been at the forefront of transporting medical supplies from China. It has since helped several compatriots stranded abroad due to the pandemic, bringing them home, and recently, it has initiated the Covid-free flights to the Canary Islands, a favorite destination at this stage.
So many people have taken to the staycation at this time, and will do the same in the months to come. Others, however, got back on a plane after a long time and flew to Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and the like. The islands of eternal spring were literally taken by storm over the Easter period and beyond.
Neos Air has worked hard to succeed in banishing the fear inherent in passengers after a year of confinement. As many as 180 passengers boarded the company's first Covid-tested flight on March 27. Then, on April 3, flights to the Canary Islands were also inaugurated from Verona, while flights from Bologna and Rome will depart on April 10.
It is easy to imagine how the company could be at the center of thousands of bookings in the coming months, with a focus on the summer months. There is great enthusiasm in the Neos environment, as evidenced by the words of CEO Carlo Stradiotti: "We have reinvigorated a fruitful collaboration with Boeing thanks to the new 737 Max 8s. A relationship that has lasted for many years now. It is a further step in our growth path. With these aircraft, we will be able to offer our customers the best possible flying experience. We hope this is the beginning of the industry's restart. We confirm our desire to offer new destinations and new ways of traveling."
They landed only yesterday and yet they are already famous: the latest additions to the Neos family are two Boeing 737-8s, and they are not...
