If you are interested in all active campaigns to buy hotel and airline points we have a dedicated home page To not miss any opportunities.
In this article:
Elite members can purchase an unlimited number of miles, while Explorer members can only buy or receive up to 100,000 miles in a calendar year unless a promotion is active. In this respect it is one of the most generous programs since the other companies put a limit on the amount of points that can be purchased.
Points can be used to redeem award tickets not only for flights of the Franco-Dutch duo, but also for all the SkyTeam alliance companies.
The Flyingblue program has a number of special features:
- It is the only one that allows you to book an award ticket in the class La Premiere, a.k.a. Air France's first class.
- It offers monthly promotions with discounts between the 25 and the 60% on the standard cost Of the prize tickets.
During the promotional period, Elite members on purchase can receive a maximum bonus of 300,000 miles, and Explorer members 100,000. Bonus miles will be rewarded on transactions made between May 17 and May 30, 2021, 2359 CET +1, and will be credited to the recipient's account when the transaction is completed.
Who better to buy points for
If you are planning to travel this summer and need to accumulate points quickly, this is definitely a very interesting promotion. For example, right now, there are many award seats to fly from Italy to the United States through the end of the summer, all starting at 43k points round trip in economy or just over 100k for business seats.
The Flying Blue program is partnered with American Express so you can Convert Membership Rewards points to FB points without spending anything. In this case, the possibility of buying the missing points with the 100% bonus is a great help toward a really interesting conversion.
The advice is to check the availability of award seats and the cost in terms of miles and taxes, then compare it with the "cash" ticket price and possibly with that of other companies on identical or similar routes and only then proceed to purchase points.
How to buy points and receive the bonus
Just go to the dedicated section in the FB portal. Managing the sale of points is the Points.com company, the number one in the industry. There are three types of bonuses:
- 50% for those buying from 2k to 8k miles
- 75% for those buying from 10k to 18k miles
- 100% for those who buy more than 20k FB miles
Of course, it goes without saying that it makes no sense to buy less than 20k miles.
