We have often talked about the Payback collection, the loyalty card that allows you to accumulate points at many different signs both physical and online.
In this article:
The special feature is that, unlike with the Coop's or other chains' loyalty program, the Payback cardholder can concentrate the points he or she collects from daily spending in different stores into one card. This then allows them to be able to gain greater benefits in the use of the points they collect.
Who are the main partners of the PB point collection
As mentioned, there are both physical and virtual partners, with the former also issuing the physical cards, although everything is now done through the app. Having more cards, however, allows you to be able to accumulate many more points by taking advantage of the frequent bonuses, coupons and other personalized offers that are made available to members.
The main signs are: Carrefour, Esso, American Express, Mondadori Store, Maxi Zoo, BNL, Bricofer and many other partneronlines such as Ebay, Groupon, Booking the full list can be found here
Warning. A partner may not necessarily allow you to earn points both online and in the physical store. For example, the clothing chain H&M only allows you to earn points through online purchases, not in stores.
How to collect thousands of bonus points
One of the best aspects of this point collection is that, in addition to being able to own multiple cards, you can link multiple cards together as if it were a "family plan," this allows you to add up all the points you collect and convert them in one shot.
This possibility, combined with the many coupons that allow you to multiply your points, makes it possible to accumulate thousands and thousands of points with small daily expenditures.
The "reap and sow" offer.
Through this operation, the points accumulated through campaign coupons will generate tree planting through Treedom, the first site that allows people to plant trees remotely and follow online the story of the project they will help to accomplish.
From July 5 to August 8, 2021, if you use Coupons with the symbol of the tree of 2 Different Partners, you will participate in the contest: up for grabs. 2 million points with which to apply, for example, for "sustainable choice" awards from the PAYBACK catalog!
The American Express Payback
There is then a dedicated credit card: Â American Express Payback which allows you to earn points every time you use it (1 point for every 2 euros spent). In the case of purchases from program partners, you accumulate even more points.
It works both as a traditional card and via smartphone, offers protection for purchases and, from fraud, and thanks to a partnership between American Express and Live Nation, provides access to exclusive presales for top concert tickets. Planned free fee each year, if you make at least one transaction every 12 months.
If you apply for the card by Aug. 8, you will receive an extra bonus by 15,000 Payback Points to use immediately or to accumulate for a larger prize.
How to use and how not to waste Payback points
There is of course, as in all point collections, a catalog of awards. It will then be possible to convert the points into a set of cookware, an electric shaver and more. Needless to say, as mentioned at the Coop points collection, this type of conversion only makes the manager happy and not the customer.
Alternatively, points can be used to discount spending in partners, with the following conversion rates:
- At Carrefour, Maxi zoo, Bricofer and 101 Coffee, you can transform 1,000 points in 5€ off
- From Mondadori Store 1,200 points become €5 off
- If you book a flight or hotel on American Express travel, you can convert 1,000 points into 4€ (here is an example of using it to discount the 5* hotel)
- For gasoline at Esso, you need 960 points to get a 4€ off coupon
Then there is a third way: converting points into Alitalia miles. Normally the conversion rate is 2:1, meaning 1,000 Payback points become 500 Alitalia miles. Occasionally, however, there are Offers that allow for a better conversion rate. Given the transition phase of the AZ loyalty program at this time we do not recommend this use.
