Dubai is in itself a magical city. It is the city of superlatives, a place where the adjectives "highest," "greatest," and "beautiful" are more than common.
In this article:
For more than six years, work has been going on here on Ain Dubai. A huge Ferris wheel, which will tower over the city from Bluewaters Island. And that will open the October 21, 2021, when it will thus inaugurate the world's largest Ferris wheel. In fact, its height is 250 meters, 82 more than the Higg Roller in Las Vegas and twice as large as the London Eye in the British capital.

What we know about the world's largest Ferris wheel
The design of Ain Dubai, the world's largest Ferris wheel, was first unveiled in February 2013. Work then began in May 2015, with an expected completion date in the first half of 2019. A date that was later pushed back to October 20, 2020. And finally pushed back another year, due to a pandemic that has put even Expo 2020 on hold.
Four times larger than an ordinary Ferris wheel, Ain Dubai has impressive numbers. The following were used to build its structure 11,200 tons of steel (the 33% more than the amount used to build the Eiffel Tower). The hub and axle weigh 1,805 tons (the same as four A380s), while the combined weight of the rim and the 48 passenger cabins reaches 7,500 tons. If the 192 spokes were placed in a row with each other, they could connect Dubai to Cairo. Each of the 48 cabins is designed to accommodate 40 people, which means the wheel can accommodate 1,750 passengers at a time.
Tickets
In terms of experience, Ain Dubai is a step above. The tour will last 38 minutes and it will be possible to choose from different types of tickets for sale online:
- 30 euro For the "Ain Dubai Views" option, in a shared air-conditioned cabin with 360-degree views and the option to sit or stand
- 86 euros for the "Ain Dubai Family Pass" option, which includes tickets for two adults and children over 12 years old and two children between 3 and 12 years old
- 104 euros for the "Ain Dubai Family Pass Plus" option, for two adults and two children and with snacks and drinks for everyone
For an additional charge, it is possible to purchase a ticket for the time of the sunset (at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.).
For those who would like to have an even more extraordinary experience, there are the Social Experience with their VIP treatment: access to the waiting lounge with drinks included, in-cabin bar. Cost? From 40 to over 90 euros per person. Finally, to celebrate a special occasion or for a company party, you can opt for the exclusive cabin rental.
Then if the Ferris wheel doesn't do it for you, you can always climb the Burj Khalifa and its viewing lounge (148 meters above the ground). Or walk down the transparent corridor of The Frame, which stretches 93 meters at 150 high. Or, again, climb to the new viewing terrace of The Palm Tower (at 240 meters).
