Just today we talked about the publication of the notice, by Loyalty spa, for the sale of the Millemiglia program. At a time of uncertainty for Italian frequent flyers, with the ITA Airways Flying Club still stuck in the doldrums, here comes a very interesting status match offer, dedicated exclusively to residents of Italy, by the loyalty program of Emirates, or Skywards. ITA Airways also did the same thing, but here the intent is definitely different given the nature of the routes operated by Emirates in our country.
The proposed status match
In this article:
The offer includes, for those who qualify, obtaining the Gold level in Emirates' Skywards program. The one that allows you to have access to lounges, get discounts on award tickets and many other little vices that can make travel better too, and especially, when traveling in economy.
The offer is directed not only to those who hold status in the Millemiglia program, but to all residents of Italy who hold status in 5 European airlines:
- Alitalia - MilleMiglia
- Lufthansa -Â Miles&More
- British Airways -Â Executive Club
- Air France/KLM - Flying Blue
How the proposal works
Emirates to propose the status match uses the StatusMatch.com platform, request takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
After entering your name/surname, you must select the loyalty program from which you are requesting the status match, the relevant elite level, and the card number.
You are then asked to upload proof of status. A photo of the card or a screenshot of the profile from the site is sufficient.
The last step is to pay the 79€ required by StatusMatch.com, and within 72 hours, if you meet the requirements you will obtain the relevant status.
In conclusion
This proposal from Emirates is definitely better than the one made by TAP, both for the quality of the carrier and the demand. Interestingly, Emirates has opened up not only to those with status in the Alitalia program, but in fact to all Italian frequent flyers with elite status in major European loyalty programs, a way of trying to intercept potential customers both For the flight from Milan to New York, but also for those moving eastward.
