Health Minister Speranza updated the list of countries where Italians can travel freely for all types of travel, even those NOT essential therefore for tourism, thanks to the tourism corridor protocol.
In this article:
The first list was published in December and, thanks to these early openings, over the Christmas vacations many Italians are Went to the Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles. as well as the Caribbean destinations of Aruba and the Dominican Republic and the tourist areas of Sharm and Marsa Alam. Six more destinations are added to the list today.
What are the new destinations and how
Cuba, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand (on Phuket Island only), Oman and French Polynesia.
Of course, it is important to understand that each country where you travel has its own protocol that allows tourists free access, with or without quarantine. In fact, Italian rules apply to people returning to Italy who, if they have followed what is expected, will not be subject to quarantine or isolation.
It is good to remember that the protocol requires that the trip be organized by a travel agent or tour operator, although - it must be admitted - many have taken advantage of this possibility by organizing the trip themselves
Requirements
The first requirement is. possess the Super Green Pass, or an equivalent certification recognized by Italy under current regulations. It is not only a requirement from Italy, but many of the new destinations added to the list do not allow unvaccinated travelers to enter the country without undergoing a strict prior quarantine.
IMPORTANT the Italian protocol may not match the protocol of the country to which you are headed. It is obviously important to comply with that of the destination in case of inconsistencies. For example, the pattern for going to Phuket involves a PCR buffer Before departure not a rapid antigenic.
- Molecular PCR or antigenic test conducted with swab and negative result, within forty-eight hours prior to departure
- If the trip exceeds seven days, it is necessary to undergo additional molecular or antigenic testing
- Before re-entering Italy, within forty-eight hours prior to embarkation, it is necessary to undergo a molecular or antigenic test, conducted by swabbing and testing negative
- Upon return, it will be mandatory to undergo additional molecular or antigenic testing
As mentioned, this is the Italian protocol, if respected when you return to our country you will not have to undergo isolation or quarantine.
Some reflections
I am surprised that it was included Singapore, since it was already an attainable nation. And in this way, with the inclusion in the corridor list, the number of tests required increases compared to what is done today. Singapore Is open to tourists from Italy and beyond through the Vaccinated Travel Lane, the protocol has changed slightly due to omicron but is still bearable.
Finally the Thailand back reachable, even if only Phuket. But this matters little, so much as at this time it is the best solution to be able to get move thanks to the Test&go protocol. Again, in addition to all the Italian requirements, it is important to follow well all those necessary to obtain the Thai Pass and the rules for not ending up in quarantine in Thailand.
In general, it is a very good thing that the list has been lengthened, although I personally think that it would be time to say, "if you have a super green pass, you can go anywhere you want."
