Costa Cruises continues with its restart plan for 2022. From March 5, the date on which the new Tuscany Coast, star of the recent edition of the Sanremo Festival, an increasing number of the company's ships will return to operation, adding to those already in service. In the coming summer, the entire Costa fleet will be operational again, with all four new ships delivered in recent months - Costa Toscana, Costa Smeralda, Costa Firenze and Costa Venezia - which will be placed in the Mediterranean. Also for the summer period, with the hope of favorable regulations, the company is planning to carry out the free mode excursions and, in light of the gradual relaxation of existing measures, is working to be able to make them available as early as this spring.

Costa's program includes a total of over 1,800 cruises from spring 2022 to winter 2022-23, which will lead to the discovery of 179 destinations around the world, with itineraries from the 3 to 127 days of duration. All of these cruises will feature the new product innovations the company has been working on in recent months, with an innovative range of excursions and an outstanding gastronomic offering with world-class chefs.
"We are seeing a growing vacation craving, and I am sure this trend will continue further in the coming weeks - stated Roberto Alberti, SVP & Chief Commercial Officer By Costa Cruises - We think our offer is the best ever, thanks to elements that combine unique experiences, both on board and ashore. Our rich itinerary program caters to every need and includes some great new features, such as cruises to Turkey. The cruise experience has been deeply enriched and will allow guests to discover destinations in an authentic way, including extended stops at some ports. Not to mention that our guests will be able to enjoy their vacations on a fleet with the latest generation of ships that combine sustainable innovation with that related to entertainment, hospitality and well-being."
After Costa Toscana, the company's restart schedule includes: Costa Favolosa April 28, with "mini cruises" in the Mediterranean; Venice Coast May 1 from Istanbul, with a new and unique one-week itinerary in Turkey and Greece; e Emerald Coast May 7, which will offer a week-long itinerary in the Western Mediterranean. Costa Pacifica will resume June 4 from Bari, exploring Greece and Malta. Two-week cruises to the Canary Islands and the Azores Islands, originally scheduled with Costa Pacifica in April and May, will be carried out from Costa Luminosa, while Costa Fortuna will return to operations on June 12 in northern Europe.
After the winter season in South America, they will also return to the Mediterranean Costa Diadema, which will offer a cruise to Lisbon on May 5, and Costa Fascinosa, which will leave on May 1 for a cruise to the Azores islands, dedicated to Costa Clubs. Returning from the Caribbean, Costa Deliziosa will resume its Mediterranean cruises from April 15, while Coast Florence, ended its season in Dubai, will be in Genoa on April 7, to begin its program of cruises to Spain, Italy and France.
Summer 2022, the twins Emerald Coast and Tuscan Coast, fueled by liquefied natural gas, along with Coast Florence, will offer week-long cruises in the Western Mediterranean, while Venice Coast will continue with its new itinerary in Turkey and Greece, departing from Istanbul. Costa Pacifica, Costa Deliziosa and Costa Luminosa will be engaged in the Eastern Mediterranean, with week-long cruises. As many as four ships (Costa Fortuna, Costa Favolosa, Costa Fascinosa and Costa Diadema) will be available in Northern Europe, to visit the Baltic capitals, the Norwegian fjords, the North Cape and Iceland.
Ships in the Costa fleet will take guests to discover the most beautiful destinations in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe safely, thanks to the Costa Safety Protocol, the health protocol developed by the company together with scientific experts and authorities.
"The year 2021 saw us safely move more than 1.5 million guests, achieving a truly unique and exceptional record considering the context in which we operated. We also recorded unprecedented levels of satisfaction, and this is thanks to the efforts and investments we have made since the restart of our operations. I am sure that the return to free-mode excursions, which we are planning for next summer and which we hope can be brought forward as early as next spring, will be an added incentive to choose a Costa cruise." Roberto Alberti said.
Costa's offerings will be just as rich and comprehensive in winter 2022-23. Costa Florence will be engaged in week-long cruises in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman, departing from Dubai. Costa Venezia will also operate from Istanbul, with cruises of 11 days in Turkey, Israel and Egypt. Costa Diadema will offer two-week cruises to the Canary Islands, with stop also Lisbon, while Costa Pacifica and Costa Fascinosa will explore the most beautiful islands of the Caribbean. Costa Smeralda will offer week-long cruises in the Western Mediterranean. Costa Toscana, Costa Favolosa and Costa Fortuna will instead be positioned in South America.
From next winter, Costa's grand voyages will also return. Costa Deliziosa will offer the World Tour, departing on January 6, 2023 from Venice or January 11, 2023 from Savona. The itinerary will touch on India and the Maldives, then travel as far as South Africa and Namibia, and from there move on to South America, sail up the Pacific coast of the continent, cross the Panama Strait and also visit New York before returning to Europe. Equally spectacular will be the Costa Luminosa Grand Cruises, departing on January 8, 2023 from Genoa and February 27, 2023 from Buenos Aires, Ranging from the Mediterranean to Tierra del Fuego and from Tierra del Fuego to the Mediterranean, up the Amazon River to Manaus.
