At a press conference held in the Piazza di Spagna lounge, the management of ITA Airways presented the details of the Volare program, those we explained yesterday by taking the information posted on the company's website. Here are the highlights announced today:
Skyteam
In this article:
This is one of the sore points that most leaves all members stunned, especially those accustomed to frequent travel with other companies and who to date have not yet seen the privileges provided by the statuses recognized, despite several announcements.
Thanks to the partnership with SkyTeam, all Club-related services, which to date are available for all ITA Airways flights, will soon be extended to airlines that are part of this network, giving members access to more than 1,000 destinations worldwide. In addition, as part of ITA Airways' business expansion strategy, the company is committed to building an ecosystem of partnerships to offer Volare members even more products and services on which to make accrual and redemption of points.
It is therefore confirmed, As we wrote in our articles yesterday e of today, the impossibility in the current state to accumulate points by flying with partner airlines, much less book award tickets on airlines other than ITA.
Exclusive Clubs
The only change from what we already knew is that clients with the Executive level, the highest in the Volare loyalty program, will receive the physical card and a welcome gift.

Otherwise no news, the information that had already been posted on the site regarding multipliers and the accumulation of points needed to obtain/renew status.
To date, the program has about 275,000 members, of which about 40,000 are Elite members (i.e., Club Plus, Premium and Executive). This is an important result, also because it is consolidated in the international market: suffice it to say that 35% of Status Match campaign members were from foreign airlines. Preliminary analysis also shows that Volare members buy and fly more than non-member customers, confirming the importance of the program in increasing our customers' satisfaction.
Award tickets
The explanation that had left many doubts for all the members who have been analyzing what was published on the official website in recent hours has arrived.
The number of points needed for award flights will vary depending on the value of the ticket at that time
This means that pricing will not be fixed but will be dynamic. Now, however, a lot of care will have to be taken, since ITA Airways has already set the minimum cost and for an intercontinental business class ticket it starts at 390 thousand points. To understand the real value much will depend on the final cost. Of course, the total number might be scary, but it will all depend on the ease with which points can be accumulated: by flying and through the various business partners.
