The aircraft, immortalized in Toulouse in ITA Airways' final livery, is one of the KM0 aircraft purchased by new carrier management of the Italian flag in the package that calls for total fleet renewal within the next 3 years.
The plane was built in 2018, but was never taken over by the Hong Kong-based carrier. Due to financial difficulties, it has been parked for years between Spain and France and now, along with five other planes also built for Hainan Airlines, is set to fly under ITA Airways' brands.
Several improvements have been made, such as new longer and thinner winglets, a new wing with a greater arrow angle, and new undercarriage. It is currently scheduled to be used on the route to Buenos Aires, but it is not ruled out that it may be used in May to fly other intercontinental routes, also to allow the crew to familiarize themselves with this model that has never before been in Alitalia's fleet.
With a video on the official FB page, ITA Airways showed the whole phase of creating the livery and revealed that the first A350-900 was named after World Champion coach Marcello Lippi, continuing with the tradition Of the names of blue sports champions.
Status Match rules changed
While waiting to see what the future of the company will be and Whether it will remain in SkyTeam Or it will move to a different alliance, we report that a few days after the launch, the following have changed, without any notification, the rules of the campaign of status match. Gone from the list are all the SkyTeam companies., or those of the same alliance in which ITA currently participates.
