ITA Airways American Express Credit Cards
Many Former Alitalia American Express cardholders have been waiting for months to see if a similar agreement will be found between the company and the finance company. A joint initiative at the beginning of the year had given hope for a quicker solution with the issuance of the new American Express Ita Airways cards, however, there is still nothing.
All this while members Millemiglia still have in place the ability to apply for as many as two credit cards that allow you to accumulate points in the former Alitalia program.
Then there are the holders American Express of the old Alitalia cards who can accumulate Membership Rewards points with daily spending instead of Millemiles.
Over the past few months, I have spoken with the CC of the former Alitalia cards of American Express several times and each time the same response, "There is no news, but something should happen."
The benefits of co-branded cards
These cards give benefits to cardholders. Depending on the type they may offer free tickets, facilitated routes to obtain/renew status, and of course the accumulation of points with daily spending.
In Italy, in recent years, we have seen these cards available not only for Alitalia, but also for Lufthansa (with Unicredit), British Airways, Iberia, and Vuelin (with Agos), and now Mooncard has arrived with the Flyng Blue program.
