Latam opens South America's largest lounge: services and sustainability

Latam has opened the largest lounge in all of South America. A huge, state-of-the-art space located inside Terminal 2 at Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago de Chile. The size is really impressive, amounting to more than 4 thousand square meters.

Why do we talk about a state-of-the-art lounge? The answer is simple: this space is In operation for 80% thanks to renewable energy.

The largest lounge in South America

Latam was recognized as the most sustainable carrier in America (not just South), Europe and Oceania. Instead, it is the fourth company in this special ranking globally. This is affirmed in the 2022 edition of Standard & Poor's Sustainability Yearbook.

Latam's sustainability strategy was launched in 2021. It shows a deep commitment to protecting the ecosystems typical of South America. A process is underway to migrate the company to a zero-emissions model. This has come about through collaboration with experts and some environmental organizations, so that the best choice is always identified. The group aims to become carbon neutral by 2050.
