The World Cup is approaching. The 2022 World Cup will start on November 20 and end on December 18. This is a historic event, considering how for the first time it will not be played at the end of the main football seasons, but rather at the halfway point. It all depends, of course, on the temperatures it reaches in Qatar during the hottest months of the year.
In this article:
It will therefore be a Christmas World Cup. The most important national teams are preparing for the event, as shown by Aerolineas Argentinas. Indeed, the carrier has unveiled an all-new livery that aims to glorify Argentina ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which could also be Lionel Messi's last. The "flea" shows his face, proudly, on theAirbus A330-200. In four years he will be 39 years old, and this could really be his big chance to triumph.
New livery
The presentation event was held at Aerolineas Hangar 5 at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires. The carrier partnered with the Argentine Football Federation and energy company YPF, finally showing off the spectacular livery that will accompany soccer fans to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
The colors are obviously those of the national flag. The side also features an emblematic inscription: "One team, one country, one dream". There is a great desire for success after unlucky years. The history of this national team at the World Cup sees a defeat in the finals in 1930 against Uruguay, in 1990 and in 2014 against Germany. The only two victories were in 1978, at home, and 1986, in Mexico. Messi wants to follow in the footsteps of Diego Armando Maradona and also consecrate himself in his own country's jersey.
Aerolineas Argentinas: flying to the World Cup
In early 2022 Aerolineas Argentinas announced its flight plan, albeit in no detail, ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The many fans intending to try their hand at the journey to the most important event in world soccer have long been procuring tickets.
The carrier has decided to propose at least Six charter flights between Ezeiza and Hamad International Airport in Doha. The company has already explained that it is ready to add additional charter flights, provided that Messi and his teammates make it through the group stage. A premise that is anything but complex, considering how Argentina is one of the tournament's favorites. It will play in Group C, taking on Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland in the first leg.
Failure to finish in the top two places against such teams would amount to a total failure, almost on par with Italy's exclusion (for the second time in a row).
The Airbus A330-200 chosen by Aerolineas Argentinas for connections to Doha is capable of carrying 267 passengers, divided into two classes: 243 allocated to Economy and 24 to Business.
The albiceleste with FLyDubai
The Argentine Football Federation (AFA) and the Emirates airline flydubai have announced a region-wide partnership. Through this partnership, flydubai will become the official domestic partner of the Argentina national team and the team's airline for traveling to the Middle East.
Over the next few weeks, AFA and flydubai will organize a series of events featuring both brands. One example is the involvement of players from Argentina's national men's soccer team in ad hoc initiatives during the training period that will take place in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
"We look forward to having more and more soccer fans travel to Qatar to support their teams and let them experience the atmosphere revolving around this event the moment they board one of our 30 dedicated flights. We are excited to support La Albiceleste and the flydubai team wishes them the best of luck in the world's biggest soccer tournament," added Al Ghaith.
For the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, flydubai will operate up to 30 daily flights between Dubai and Doha. The flights will be in partnership with Qatar Airways and will offer soccer fans various travel options to attend the matches taking place from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
