The 2004 film starring Tom Hanks had told the story of Mehran Karimi Nasseri, an Iranian political refugee who has lived more than 18 years at Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport.

What few people know is that Nasseri had eventually left the Paris terminal and, thanks in part to the money he received for his story, had been living in the French capital until recently.
In recent months, however, he had returned to live around the terminals of the Paris airport. He died at the airport where he had spent years of his life, confirmation comes directly from the airport's management company. He was 76 years old.
