Ryanair announces new routes from Cagliari and Bari for summer 2023

The airline has announced its operations from Cagliari for summer 2023, which includes 2 new routes (39 in total) to several destinations including Gothenburg and Genoa, as well as Increased frequencies on more than 10 routes such as Bologna, Pisa, Milan and Rome.

- Capacity growth of 10% over S22 and +70% over pre-Covid
- 2.4m pax p.a.
- More than 2,000 total jobs (including 90 direct jobs for pilots, crews and engineers)
From Cagliari, Eddie Wilson of Ryanair stated: "As the No. 1 airline in Italy and Cagliari, Ryanair is pleased to announce its largest-ever operation to Cagliari for Summer '23, with 39 routes including 2 new ones to Gothenburg and Genoa, offering Cagliari citizens/visitors even more choices for their summer vacation at the lowest fares in Europe.
With 3 Cagliari-based aircraft worth over $300 million, supporting 90 well-paid jobs, Ryanair continues to provide more traffic, more jobs and lower fares than any other airline in Sardinia and Italy. While Ryanair will carry over 2.4 million passengers to/from Cagliari this year (+47% vs pre Covid), we are urging the Italian government and regional council to immediately eliminate the excessive €6.50 per departing passenger fee and redesign the outdated PSO scheme. This will enable Ryanair to provide up to 1 million additional inbound tourist pax per year (+50% growth) generating over €1 billion more in tourism spending in Sardinia over the next 5 years with more connectivity, domestic and international tourism year round from major inbound markets such as Germany, France, UK, Nordic countries while supporting 1,500 additional jobs on the island. To celebrate our new operation from Cagliari for summer 2023, we are launching a special promotion, with fares starting at only €29.99 for travel between April and October 2023, which must be booked by midnight Feb. 17 only on Ryanair.com."
