Volotea announces two exclusive connections: from Verona to Berlin and from Florence to Hamburg

After the announcement of the 2022 results and the New routes from Sardinia and Puglia, Volotea expands its offer of flights departing from the Verona and Florence airports.

New exclusive Verona-Berlin connection

As of May 26 route will be inaugurated to Berlin, the first German city to be connected to the Catullus by the carrier, with 2 frequencies per week, every Tuesday and Friday. This new route brings to 14 the number of destinations reachable from Verona aboard the carrier's aircraft, 7 in Italy and 7 abroad for a total of more than 3,500 flights and about 630,000 seats on sale.

This connection came about as a result of the signing of a Memorandum of understanding for a commercial partnership between Volotea and Eurowings, the Lufthansa Group's low-cost airline specializing in cheap direct flights to Europe. Thanks to this new synergy, the 2 airlines will combine a vast network of more than 140 routes: more than 100 operated by Eurowings and about 40 by Volotea without overlapping, offering their respective passengers a fuller range of flight options. Also under this agreement, Volotea will open 8 new routes in Germany.

This makes 14 destinations connected by Volotea to Verona airport, 7 in Italy (Alghero, Cagliari, Catania, Lampedusa, Olbia, Palermo, and Pantelleria), 1 in France (Paris Charles de Gaulle), 4 in Greece (Athens, Heraklion/Creta, Santorini, Zakynthos), 1 in Spain (Barcelona), and 1 in Germany (Berlin-New 2023).

New exclusive Florence-Hamburg route

Starting next October 10, Volotea will take off from Amerigo Vespucci with its new flight to Hamburg. The route, operated exclusively by Volotea, will have 2 weekly frequencies, every Tuesday and Saturday.

With the announcement of the new route, destinations served by the carrier departing from Florence airport rise to 12, 7 international and 5 domestic, totaling more than 2,000 flights and about 325,000 seats for sale. 

In fact, the airline has already announced that it has chosen the Florentine capital as its seventh Italian base: with the opening of the base, scheduled for April, the low-cost company will allocate an Airbus A319 at the Vespucci.

This connection also came about as a result of the signing of the memorandum of understanding for a business partnership Between Volotea and Eurowings.

By 2023, 12 connections will be available from Florence: 5 to Italy (Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Olbia and Palermo), 5 to France (Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes and Toulouse), 1 to Spain (Bilbao) and 1 to Germany (Hamburg).
