Volotea celebrated its 50 millionth passenger carried internationally since the launch of its first flight. It is Andrea Framarin, an osteopath from Verona. who traveled aboard the company's fleet on a flight departing from Verona. A considerable milestone, reached just 11 years after the first flight was launched, which testifies to the carrier's steady growth and was celebrated with a special ceremony attended by Carlos Muñoz, President and Founder of Volotea. For the lucky passenger, the company has prepared a very special prize: 50 free tickets that can be used by Framarin to fly, together with his friends, throughout the carrier's network.

Dating back to 2012 is the perfect fit between Volotea and Verona Airport, which in 2015 became one of the low-cost company's 19 operating bases across Europe, employing more than 60 employees. The airport plays a key role in the company's development plans in Italy. In Verona, for summer 2023, Volotea's offer includes connections to 14 destinations, 7 in Italy (Alghero, Cagliari, Catania, Lampedusa, Olbia, Palermo and Pantelleria), 1 in France (Paris Orly), 4 in Greece (Athens, Heraklion/Creta, Santorini, Zakynthos), 1 in Spain (Barcelona) and 1 in Germany (Berlin -Â New 2023). This is a total supply of more than 3,500 flights, representing a total of 626,000 seats for sale.
"We are really happy to be able to celebrate, after only 11 years, the important milestone of 50 million passengers carried. This achievement confirms our commitment to seize the opportunity to increasingly improve connectivity between small and medium-sized European cities, offering convenient and comfortable flights at competitive fares. And it is symbolic and significant for us that the celebrations involved Verona Airport, managed by SAVE Group, our largest airport partner since the first day of our operations, and Barcelona Airport, where our offices are based. On behalf of all of Volotea, I would like to thank our employees for their great work and the thousands of passengers who, every day, choose our aircraft for their travels. We look forward to celebrating new milestones together and to announcing soon many new features to make travel easier for our passengers."- Carlos Muñoz, President and Founder of Volotea, said..
"We are pleased to celebrate with Volotea the achievement of this new milestone involving Catullo Airport, where the company has progressively developed a network of flights that meets the needs of the area. A particular merit of Volotea is in fact that since the beginning of its operations it has built an ongoing dialogue with the area it serves, first connecting small and medium-sized cities then, in more recent years, larger cities such as Barcelona, Paris and, from this summer, Berlin, always proving to be an important partner for our Group and the development of traffic at our airports."-Â said Monica Scarpa, CEO of Catullo and SAVE Group..
