ITA's first A330neo is ready to enter service

It will arrive in the fleet in June to serve long-haul routes and new ITA Airways' intercontinental connections in the summer season.
During the first flight, the blue livery Airbus A330neo flew in cruise phase to complete the preparatory cycle for ITA Airways' entry into operations.
New cabin
As was the case with the A320 in recent days., this will be ITA's first long-range aircraft configured from scratch and not picked up KM0 already configured by others.
We will see on board this plane the new business chairs class, but not only that. The type of seats installed in economy will also be different, and most importantly, the new premium economy cabin which is missing today on the A350 fleet entering service during 2022.
At the very least through the summer of 2023 the Italian company will be flying 3 different products On the three aircraft in the long-haul fleet.
Why ITA chose the A330neo
The introduction of the Airbus A330neo to ITA Airways' fleet represents a further important step toward sustainability. Lighter, quieter and more efficient, it boasts 25% lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat offered than previous generation aircraft.
The arrival of the Airbus A330neo will enable ITA Airways to have a modern fleet, equipped with cutting-edge technologies, and to reach 80% of environment-friendly fleet by 2026, a firm and strong goal for its ESG commitment, aiming to become the greenest carrier in Europe.

Who flies the A330neo
There are currently 21 companies in the world using this model of aircraft. The first customer to receive this new version of the A330 was Tap Portugal, which uses this model for connections to long haul from Lisbon to North and South America.
The best interior design undoubtedly belongs to Virgin Atlantic which on board these aircraft has installed the newest version of its upper class, including an in-flight bar, unique in the world of single-decker aircraft.
