Reaching Bergen airport from Italy is not super easy. Recently Norwegian has opened the connection to Bergamo: I went there for work via Amsterdam with KLM and back via Paris with Air France.
In this article:
Small, but beautiful and connected to the city center by a streetcar line. It is possible to travel between the airport and the center, and vice versa, in about 50 minutes for the price of 80 Norwegian kroner.
Access
As the only lounge, it is open to premium passengers from all airlines operating at the airport. This means that you enter either with a business class ticket or by taking advantage of the status In the different loyalty programs.
It is not accessible to Priority Pass holders, but is accessible to Amex Centurion and Platinum holders. As well as Dragonpass and Louge Key card holders.
Location
The lounge is located in the C/D/E gate area, just as you come out of the automatic doors that connect this part of the airport with the rest of the terminal, on the right. You go up two flights of stairs and enter the lounge directly.
The lounge
The room is beautiful and bright, thanks to the glass wall that runs the length of the room. It is an open space, but divided into different zones.
At the opposite end from the entrance is an area with chaise lounges, where you can relax with your legs stretched out.
Then there are a number of armchairs perfect for resting and/or chatting with fellow travelers.
There is not much of a view of the runway, but it is still possible to observe takeoffs and landings.
The central part of the lounge is used as a risotrante, and finally there are the restrooms overlooking the runway.
I really liked the colors of this lounge, reminding me of the fittings of Finnair's new business class.
Food & Beverage
Small buffet, but neat. Both for the food and the drink part. A selection of drinks, a menu to explain the food offerings, and a rich salad bar to compose your own dish to your liking. Given that this airport is not super busy, a higher than expected offering.
In conclusion
Excellent lounge in a clean, neat and easy to get around airport. Considering that Norgegia does not have a flag carrier, but is divided between SAS, Norwegian and Finnair, it is a great product.
