On the occasion of the annual Arabian Travel Market, the Middle East's largest tourism expo taking place these days, the Emirates Group airline has unveiled the 1-1 configuration of the new cabin that will be installed on planes starting in the last quarter of 2023.
A breakthrough that, according to FlyDubai, points to a new level of comfort, privacy and entertainment never-before-seen onboard single-aisle aircraft. The carrier, however, has not yet reported what are the first routes Who will be eligible for the new class of service.
The evolution of Business
The Business Suites, uniquely designed for single-aisle aircraft, are the evolution of FlyDubai's Business Class-which already launched reclining seats in Business in November 2021-and offers 10 suites with direct corridor access in a configuration that even rivals some of the best Business experiences aboard long-haul aircraft (the dual-aisle ones to be clear).
FlyDubai is also the launch customer of this new product developed ad hoc by Safran Seats, one of the leading aviation seat manufacturers, and JPA Design, a multinational company in the aviation desing industry.
The suite will be available at least on six aircraft, all B737 Max, from early 2024 (installation will begin in November 2023) for what will be the longest routes within FlyDubai's network.
The first features
From a suite with fully lockable door to a more traditional seat with greater visibility and openness, passengers can choose their level of privacy and comfort while traveling.
In addition, the Suite provides numerous solutions for sorting and stowing personal itemsi and ambient lighting placed both in the seat shell and in the lower part of the chair (at the footrest) and in the various drawers useful for placing personal effects. A system that should provide softer and more comfortable lighting.
The on-board entertainment system also includes Bluetooth connection to plug in one's personal headphones and a 4K built-in touchscreen 17 in.
FlyDubai's announcement, moreover, merely states. the opportunity to take advantage of "an immersive viewing experience, with hours of hit movies and popular TV programs... " as well as "ahe selection of delicious meals, snacks, and complimentary hot and cold beverages available for business class passengers. Selected hot meals with a world-class menu are offered on flights longer than 90 minutes, while cold meals are available on routes under an hour and a half flight time."
Where FlyDubai flies to in Italy
The Emirates airline currently flies from Dubai to four Italian airports: Catania, Pisa, Naples and Bergamo. The latter was inaugurated last March 10 and as of April 18 its daily frequency. Emirates also operates a codeshare on these routes, and flights depart from the Terminal 3 Of Dubai International.
From June 22, however, comes the fifth destination in Italy. FlyDubai will in fact begin connecting Cagliari airport with Dubai: This will be the first direct scheduled intercontinental connection operated from Sardinia.
The route includes. three weekly frequencies, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with departure from the Cagliari airport at 1:35 p.m. and arrival in Dubai at 10:10 p.m. The flight to Cagliari, on the other hand, will take off at 7:30 a.m. and land in Sardinia at 12:35 p.m.
Flights to and from Pisa Instead, they will depart every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The same frequency and same days are planned for flights on Catania. Finally, there are four frequencies to Naples.
