In this article:
NO787 link will debut on June 9 and will be operated every Tuesday and Sunday from June to September. The schedule is excellent with departure from Falcone Borsellino Airport at 11 am with arrival at T1 at JFK just before 3 pm.
The return, again from T1 is scheduled to take off at 5 p.m. local time with arrival in Sicily at 7 a.m. the next day. The last rotation of flight NO789 is currently on sale for September 29.
Direct flight to the States
Thus returns the direct link from Sicily to the U.S. that had disappeared with the pandemic. Certainly some passengers may be disappointed that United will not, as rumored, activate the connection and of the resulting Lack of continuation of travel to a destination other than New York City, but for many instead it will be a great joy to be able to fly to New York without having to stop over in Rome or another European capital.
Neos' Dreamliners are outfitted in two cabins. of premium economy and economy, for a total of 355 passengers. I traveled in December 2022 in economy from NY to Milan and here you can read my review of the flight.
The main cabin layout is the classic 3-4-3 with all seats equipped with entertainment system, wi-fi and power outlets. More space on the other hand for those sitting in PE, the configuration is 3-3-3 and the seat is slightly more spacious, equipped with leg support and adjustable headrest.
The planes entered the fleet in 2021 and previously were operated by Norwegian on intercontinental routes. Premium economy is thus the product that was offered by the bankrupt company from whose ashes two different carriers were born. Norse for intercontinental flights and Norwegian for intra eu flights.
More and more flights from Italy to the U.S.
Next summer will undoubtedly be a Record summer for direct connections from many Italian airports to U.S. and North America. Not only Fiumicino and Malpensa, but there will be direct flights from Palermo, Lamezia Terme, Naples, and Venice. American carriers have all announced increased frequencies and new flights, Emirates should have the new A380 with new cabins, premium economy included, not forgetting the new connections announced by Air Canada and, of course, ITA Airways.
