As always, I am happy to give space for TFC readers' stories who were able to get a trip, or an experience, through the use of the points combined with the advice I try to distribute on my site. These are real comments, from real people who participate in the our "secret" groups, receive our newsletters and put into practice what we write.
Here is the story of Mauritius
In this article:
Hi Matteo I am Maurizio !
I am an avid reader of the flight Club And I always see with extreme interest all the flight and hotel reviews you do! I'm just writing to say that thanks to your advice I had a top vacation in Florida
Booked flight Milan-New York with Emirates in business class (my trial time in business) for two people 174000 Amex points and 258 euros tax. I know it's not 380 and the conversion is not the best, but it was a great trip all the same.
Some time ago you had advertised the purchase of Hilton points , well I purchased 360000 thousand HH points for a total of 1,600 euros. I selected Waldorf astoria in Orlando With fifth night free thanks to gold level of Amex platinum ( The prices of hotels in the surrounding area with lower category were around 1300/1400, the price for the same nights at the Waldorf would have come 4000€ ) Icing on the cake when at check out. the bill for various hotel expenses dropped from 260 to 46 euros thanks to the Hilton gold level credit.
Thanks to the post you had published about how Flying blue Had raised the level of points obtainable through hotel reservation I booked the night in New York , Key West and Miami Giving up HH points but putting in the Flying Blue account something like 28000 points .
Return from Miami to Fco using 34000 FB points and 122 euro tax , unfortunately in economy this time, but for two people it is a reasonable conversion. Use Centurion lounges. where available and Delta SkyClub lounges as well. for domestic flights (Italian charters as you well know do not have the same American restrictions).
I am sure that the same trip purchased cash would have come a fortune.
Thanks to your advice I was able to maximize what I could! I saw that now have raised the limit of points that can be purchased with Hilton again, and I really think I will take advantage of it .
Thank you very much
