ITA Airways' Frequent Flyer Volare, two new elite levels pop up

Let's go back to talking about the ITA Airways loyalty program. Thanks to the report of Alberto, one of our attentive readers, we have just found out that, according to the official website of the Skyteam alliance, the program Volare would consist of five elite levels and not the three we have known to date and are mentioned in the program regulations.

The regulation

As can be seen in the screenshot above, the regulations as of today (May 1, 2022) speak of only 3 elite levels beyond the entry level: Plus, Premium and Executive.

The two "secret" statuses

Going poking around on the official Skyteam website, however, the levels would be 5: with the addition of two statuses to date not mentioned in the regulations and whose benefits are unknown.

Skyteam's website also features new status cards, the first "Executive Forever" has the same colors as the most prestigious elite card in ITA Airways' new loyalty program, the only one that is sent in physical form to the holder's home. From the name it suggests that this card is the counterpart of the old lifetime card for Winged Arrow users forever.

Definitely more mysterious is the Limitless card., in design it is completely black with gray lettering, and there is a noticeable lack of the tricolor along the bottom edge, a tricolor that is instead present on all ITA Airways cards both digital and physical.

One might think of a mistake or miscommunication, but again Alberto digging through the pages of the ITA Airways website, pointed out to us how in the lounge access regulations these two cards are instead specifically mentioned. Clearly, two clues make a proof, so ITA Airways is preparing to launch these two new cards.

Personally, I am very curious to see what the Limitless card will offer. I am thinking for example of something similar to Birtish Airways' Gold Guest List level, Lufthansa's HON Circle, or Air France's Platinum Ultimate level, if so we need to understand what benefits will be provided for those who reach these levels. In the case of BA's Executive Club there is access to First Galleries, higher level lounges than business lounges, free upgrades on flights, more passenger attention. Passengers with Lufthansa HON status have upgrades, access to First Class lounges, and more.

All of these are benefits, however, that ITA Airways does not currently offer, having only one type of lounge and especially not being a carrier with a first-class cabin.
