ITA Airways, double Volare points for those who fly by until February

Interesting promotion launched by ITA Airways' Volare loyalty program on a selection of routes that allows you to earn double points (qualifying and non-qualifying). Too bad, however, that the points apply only on a number of routes and in many cases an a/r ticket accumulates points on only one of them.

Promotion

All customers enrolled in the Volare program who purchase a flight sold and operated by ITA Airways between 26/01/2023 and the 28/02/2023 to fly no later than 28/02/2023 on selected routes and to specific destinations will receive double Volare points.

The promotion is understood to be valid only on the single route covered by the promotion. For reservations that also include routes not covered by the promotion, points will only be credited for included routes.

This means that if you take a ticket to fly from Malpensa and New York, and back, the double punts will be accumulated only on the return flight.

In conclusion

An interesting promotion, I just don't understand why reward only those who fly a particular route and not if you take the same route round trip. Right to exclude Milan/Rome, but why double points only if I fly from the capital to Genoa and not for the return flight?
