Ryanair continues to offer more traffic, more jobs and lower fares than any other airline in Sardinia and Italy. While Ryanair will carry over 850,000 passengers to/from Alghero this year (+85% vs. pre Covid), we are urging the Italian government and regional council to immediately eliminate the excessive €6.50 per departing passenger tax and to redesign the outdated territorial continuity route system. This will enable Ryanair to provide up to 1 million additional inbound tourists per year (+50% growth) generating over €1 billion in additional tourism spending in Sardinia over the next 5 years with more connectivity, domestic and international tourism year round from major inbound markets such as Germany, France, UK, Nordic countries, while supporting 1,500 additional jobs on the island. To celebrate our new operation from Alghero for the summer of 2023, we are launching a special promotion, with fares starting at only €29.99 for travel between April and October 2023, which must be booked by midnight Feb. 17 only on Ryanair.com."

Fabio Gallo, CFO & Business Development Director, Alghero Airport said: "Ryanair's operational program for summer 2023 is, in fact, a consolidation of the performance already recorded by the carrier during summer 2022. Thanks to all the passengers transported each year to the Alghero airport, Ryanair represents a key partner not only for SOGEAAL, but also for the entire Northwest territory, as it helps to support the economy of the area and make the prospect for all entrepreneurs to fully and more quickly recover the losses suffered in the recent period of crisis more concrete. In this sense, SOGEAAL hopes for a contribution from the whole territory, institutions and local entrepreneurs, to support Ryanair's growth in this and the coming seasons."
