The Bonvoy program allows you to accumulate and spend points at Marriott Group facilities. This offer is dedicated to all those who have been enrolled in the loyalty program for at least 30 days. It doesn't matter if you have, or haven't, collected points in the last few years: people who have activated their account but have never generated any movements can also access the promo.
Each user can buy up to A maximum of 100,000 Bonvoy points per year, points that can be used to stay at one of thousands of facilities around the world, including Italy, without spending anything else.
How to use the points and does it make sense to buy them?
We have repeatedly explained the reasons and dynamics of selling points/miles by airlines and hotel groups. The answer to the question is always the same: It depends. On what? On the offer: if there are no promotions, it NEVER makes sense to buy. Be careful, though, each offer has its own characteristics, so you have to make a different reasoning each time.
Marriott shares its Hotels in categories, from 1 to 8, which makes it possible to know in advance the points needed to stay in a particular facility during low, medium or high season.
In the past few days we have talked about how to book a brand new facility in the Maldives for only 24k points per night. With this promo, buying 100k points to book at this property would cost us 875$, or just over €720. But paying cash, a 5-night stay at this hotel would cost us no less than 720$ per night. There you have it. the offer that allows us to buy points with the discount, in the case of the Maldives stay, would save us nearly 3,000 $.

The terms and conditions of the offer

- This offer is valid only for points purchased through the Buy Points or Gift Points pages of the promotion.
- Points purchased do not count toward Marriott BonvoyTM Elite status.
- Members may purchase or receive points purchased by another member as a gift for a maximum of 100,000 points per calendar year when purchased through the Buy Points Showcase or the Gift Points Showcase. Points already purchased or received as gifts in 2021 are included in the annual purchase limit of 100,000 points.
- Points can be purchased in increments of 1,000, up to 50,000 points (with a minimum purchase of 2,000 points required for promotion eligibility) or in increments of 5,000, up to 100,000 points.
- The promotional discount purchase rate is 30% over the normal purchase rate of US $ 12.50 per 1,000 points (US $ 62.50 per 5,000 points) with a minimum purchase of 2,000 points.
- Point purchases will be processed within 72 hours of completing the purchase.
- A Member must be an Active Member in good standing to purchase and/or receive Points.
- New members can purchase points 30 days after enrolling in the Marriott Bonvoy program.
- Once points have been purchased or given away, no refunds will be allowed.
