Auckland airport, although the borders of the New Zelandto were reopened during my world tour, it was not very busy.
In this article:
In fact, there seemed to be people only In the Air New Zealand lounge, while the rest of the facility, including the Strata lounge, was deserted. Before embarking on my Time travel on Air New Zealand's 787 I then visited the only other open lounge in the entire airport.
Location
This lounge is located at the end of the shopping area, on the opposite side from the escalators leading to the gates.
Access
The Strata Lounge is an independent lounge, managed by the airport, which is a member of the Priority Pass network. American Express holders can then enter for free depending on the card they hold.
The hall
This lounge is located on the floor above the main floor and stores.
Past the reception desk, you will find the open kitchen on the right and the buffet on the opposite side.
The room is large and bright, although it does not face the runway but the terminal. There are various types of seating: from armchairs to bar tables, from sofas to more secluded areas.
Services
In addition to showers, there is a small work area with a meeting table with printer capability.
Then there is a reserved small room with a table and monitor where you can have a business meeting.
There is also a small room, aquarium model, for children; it doesn't offer much but the fact that it is there at all is worth half a point more.
Food & Beverage
Although it was not full, I must say that the food offerings were sufficient. There was a choice of hot and cold offerings and the ever-present pancake churning machine.
Also discreet is the choice of beverages, always self-service, both non-alcoholic and soft drinks, and wines and spirits, which are located in a separate area.
In conclusion
A beautiful independent lounge, an adequate food offering. Of course, Air New Zealand's lounge is nicer, but here you enter it with PP even If you travel in ultra basic economy and that makes all the difference in the world.
