Too bad this airport is on the other side of the world. because it offers the most comprehensive range of lounges in a single terminal you could wish for. The list could not fail to include American Express, in this case. not with a Centurion Lounge, but a "normal" hall.

Location
Sydney Airport's international terminal is one large facility divided into two plexuses connected by a long corridor. In between the two gate areas is the duty free area. On one side mainly Qantas and Sky Team carriers' flights depart, on the other side Star Alliance, Emirates and other carriers' flights.
This lounge is located in this very area, on the floor below the main one. On the same level as the Emirates lounge
Access
As with the Centurions, this lounge Is open primarily to holders of Amex Platinum and Black cards, but when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Here in Australia there are at least a dozen other cards that allow access to this waiting room.
The lounge
We are definitely one level below the Centurions and it is also less beautiful than the two lounges upstairs, Singapore Airlines' SilverKris and Air New Zealand's lounge, but it is still better than many European lounges. The entrance is Centurion-style, with the vertical flower bed.
The lounge is not huge, but considering how many lounges there are in less than 30 steps, it's not a big deal.
It has a beautiful view of the outside, too bad it is the only area of the lounge where you have natural light.
Immediately in front of the entrance, there is an immense table perfect for smartworking. Or watch something on the TV wall, with 5 different broadcasts running simultaneously.
Then there are sofa seats that overlook the outside of the lounge; the lounge is on the ground floor, so it allows you to view the planes from the bottom up. It's just too bad that the overlook, as mentioned, is not very big.
The nicest thing about the room is definitely the open kitchen, as if we were in a starred restaurant.
Completing the location is an area with restaurant model furniture, with more comfortable seating and tables for dining.
Food & Beverage
As mentioned, the open kitchen is the best thing about the lounge. The food on offer is buffet style, although when reading the lunch menu, express dishes can also be ordered.
On the opposite side of the kitchen is the bar counter, which is always a staple of Amex lounges.
In conclusion
Of the lounges I visited in Sydney, it is definitely not the best, the alternative if you do not have status is The House, which participates in the Priority Pass network, but was closed when I was in the area.
It is still a good product, but the impression is that here in Sydney are all above average.
